Also present are the GOP&#8217;s attorney Ryan WILSON, and the DFL&#8217;s counsel,LEAKY THE BEAGLE.\u00a0 <br \/><\/em><\/p>\n<p>CHIEF JUSTICE HUDSON:\u00a0 OK, counsel for the defense.\u00a0 Your statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>WILSON:\u00a0\u00a0 Our case is clear and consistent, your honors. The Minnesota State Constitution is clear that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quorum is a majority of <em>current members<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0 Given the overturning of the District 40B election, that means there were 133 members on January 14, the statutory date for convening the legislature.\u00a0 That means a quorum is 67.<\/li>\n<li>Furthermore, your honors, as the Constitution clearly gives the Legislature the duty to run its own affairs, the attempts by Secretary Simon, Governor Walz and, for that matter, any hypothetical attempt by the Supreme Court would be a violation of the separation of powers prescribed in both the US and Minnesota constitutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We therefore request the court dismiss this frivolous and anti-democratic claim with prejudice.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you.<\/p>\n<p>HUDSON : Thank you, Mr. Wilson.\u00a0 Now, Mr&#8230;Beagel?<\/p>\n<p>LEAKY THE BEAGLE :\u00a0 (<em>Slowly, ostentatiously waddles to the lectern<\/em>).\u00a0 (<em>Pauses<\/em>).\u00a0\u00a0 (<em>Starts speaking in an atrocious German accent<\/em>).
