{"id":87695,"date":"2024-06-10T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-06-10T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=87695"},"modified":"2024-06-10T09:11:38","modified_gmt":"2024-06-10T14:11:38","slug":"end-of-the-beginning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=87695","title":{"rendered":"End Of The Beginning"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Coming in the wake of the celebrations of the 90th anniversary of D-Day, it&#8217;d be easy to get hypoerbolic about this.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But in today&#8217;s academic culture, making an announcement like this is a little like running off a Higgins boat with a BAR and running toward the muzzle flashes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The American College of Pediatricians just put out a \ud83d\udd25\ud83d\udd25\ud83d\udd25 statement calling out all the major medical associations by name for pushing the gender transition craze on kids.<br><br>They ask for these groups to &quot;IMMEDIATELY stop the promotion of social affirmation, puberty blockers,\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Rba8HDLkoM\">pic.twitter.com\/Rba8HDLkoM<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Robby Starbuck (@robbystarbuck) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/robbystarbuck\/status\/1799281058170405320?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 8, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;But they&#8217;re a small conservative group!  They&#8217;re not the <em>big <\/em>pediatrics group!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abolitionists were a tiny minority too.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And if you want to go on from there and say the national healthcare authorities of the UK, Norway, Germany and &#8211; this is kinda big &#8211; <em>Sweden<\/em> are &#8220;little conservative groups&#8221;, we need to talk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m predicting the entire &#8220;transing kids&#8221; social contagion ends in a tsunami of medical malpractice cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m no expert, but this seems like an important step.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Coming in the wake of the celebrations of the 90th anniversary of D-Day, it&#8217;d be easy to get hypoerbolic about this.
