Every once in a while you run into a blog on the MOBroll that you want to use some mentalist-fu to get everyone <\/em>to put on their daily blog-reading menu.<\/p>\n

<\/em>Frequent Shot In The Dark <\/em>commenter “Master of None”, the proprietor of his eponymous blog, is one of those for me.\u00a0 MoN is one of the stalwarts of this blog’s comment section, and his blog is one of the better small political-oriented blogs on the ‘roll.<\/p>\n

I liked this post, where he fact-checked one of the hamsters<\/a> the DFL is trying to run against Erik Paulsen (R-MN3)<\/p>\n

As I reported, here <\/a>and here<\/a>,\u00a0 DFL Congressional candidate wannabe Dr. Maureen Hackett isn\u2019t quite sure what party her heart belongs to (or her checkbook).\u00a0 Now, it\u2019s being reported<\/a> in the Star Tribune. that it\u2019s not completely clear she knows who she\u2019s running against.<\/p>\n

While Bachmann\u2019s extremism has won her great reviews from her right-wing base, it\u2019s not acceptable here in the 3rd District.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Trying to compare Michelle Bachman to Erik Paulsen is a tactic that failed miserably in 2008, and it is doomed to failure in 2010 for one very good reason.\u00a0 Paulsen has been very smart in putting together a voting record that is differentiated enough from Bachmann\u2019s yet stays true to Republican core values. Paulsen\u2019s votes against the stimulus, health care reform, and cap and trade not only place him solidly in the fiscally conservative camp, they also happen to be on the winning side of public opinion polls.\u00a0\u00a0 But, on some smaller issues, extension of SCHIP and funding for solar energy, for example, Congressman Paulsen moderated his voting record and went against the Republican grain.\u00a0 Enough so that even some local chants of \u201cRINO\u201d have emerged from right wing political types with no experience in winning elections.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

MoN updates regularly; here’s hoping he stays with it.\u00a0 Of course, nothing encourages regular writing like lots of traffic!<\/p>\n
