Out of all the places he could move to &#8211; he chose across the street from me. Defendant continued to keep pace with Mr. Cornett&#8217;s retreat all around his vehicle, into the street and back onto the sidewalk. Mr. Cornett felt sufficient fear of being stabbed or killed by defendant&#8217;s dangerous weapon, a machete, that he pulled his handgun. Even then, defendant did not stop.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Oh, yeah &#8211; and he&#8217;s now the DFL-endorsed candidate running against Franson:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I don\u2019t know why \u2026 that party should be loud and proud for their unanimously endorsed democrat candidate. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/tMIfo9lMMI\">pic.twitter.com\/tMIfo9lMMI<\/a><\/p>&mdash; \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8Mary\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 (@RepMaryFranson) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepMaryFranson\/status\/1779193826449444977?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 13, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Not just endorsed.  <em>Endorsed unanimously<\/em>.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is today&#8217;s DFL .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oh, yeah &#8211; I suspect that if the GOP endorsed a felon and someone very credibly alleged (with, say, footage they shot themselves, and a loooong social media record) to have stalked his female MNDFL opponent, the media would be humping the story&#8217;s leg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UPDATE:  <\/strong>Ken Martin, to his credit, at least rhetorically tried to distance himself from Hoff.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">My statement on DFL 12B endorsement: <br><br>The kind of violent and threatening behaviors that Mr. Hoff has engaged in have no place in the Minnesota DFL party. The Minnesota DFL strongly disavows this endorsement, and I have asked the local unit in question to withdraw their\u2026<\/p>&mdash; Ken Martin (@kenmartin73) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kenmartin73\/status\/1779953557338263905?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 15, 2024<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the one hand, I don&#8217;t suspect the DFL is going to spend any money in 12B no matter who gets endorsed; Franson hasn&#8217;t faced a serious challenge since 2012, and she&#8217;s going to win the district by a 2:1 margin no matter who the DFL runs; with Hoff, it might be close to a three digit margin. . <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But kudos to Martin; there <em>is <\/em>a bottom to the barrel below which the DFL won&#8217;t dig.  John Thompson taught &#8217;em <em>something<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, some of them, anyway.
