They&#8217;re citing a flying spaghetti monster in trashing civil liberties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BERG:  So &#8211; the left doesn&#8217;t refer to&#8230;God&#8230;?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LIBRELLE:  Superstition!   Flying Spaghetti Monsters!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BERG:   &#8230;in abridging a civil liberty?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LIBRELLE:  No!  We are people of <em>science<\/em>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BERG:  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/us\/hawaii-court-says-spirit-of-aloha-supersedes-constitution-second-amendment\/ar-BB1hZJDv\">Right<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Hawaii&#8217;s highest court ruled Wednesday that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/us\/personal-freedoms\/second-amendment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Second Amendment rights as interpreted<\/a>\u00a0by the U.S. Supreme Court do not extend to Hawaii citizens, citing <strong>the &#8220;spirit of Aloha.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the ruling, which was penned by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/judge-presiding-over-big-oil-climate-change-lawsuit-reveals-connection-plaintiffs-eco-lawyers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hawaii Supreme Court<\/a>&nbsp;Justice Todd Eddins, the court determined that states &#8220;retain the authority to require&#8221; individuals to hold proper permits before carrying firearms in public. The decision also concluded that the Hawaii Constitution broadly &#8220;does not afford a right to carry firearms in public places for self defense,&#8221; further pointing to the &#8220;spirit of Aloha&#8221; and even quoting HBO&#8217;s TV drama &#8220;The Wire.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bing.com\/th?id=OAIP.56c3b44f86adcf3577926631fd8bc88e&amp;pid=AdsNative&amp;c=3&amp;w=214&amp;h=112&amp;dynsize=1&amp;qlt=90\" alt=\"Used by +100,000 Creators - Riverside - A\/V Podcast Tool\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>LIBRELLE:   Well, that&#8217;s different. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BERG:  Because Hawaii&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LIBRELLE:  <em>Hawai&#8217;i<\/em>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BERG:  Right &#8211; it&#8217;s indigenous and colonized?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LIBRELLE:  Yes.
