Sublime, and a pretty universal pop culture reference.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do I even need to introduce it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"a-ha - Take On Me (Official Video) [4K]\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/djV11Xbc914?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The video isn&#8217;t just representative of the golden age of music video.  The rotoscope <em>noir<\/em>-in-color <em>is <\/em>the golden age of music video.  MTV would certainly have existed without it &#8211; but nobody would have cared nearly as much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the song itself &#8211; the bubbling syths and synth drums, the descent into the choruses, and of course Morten Harket&#8217;s iconic falsetto in the chorus?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I heard and saw this for the first time sitting on a friend&#8217;s couch, watching MTV for the first time.
