{"id":85285,"date":"2023-06-05T11:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-06-05T16:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=85285"},"modified":"2023-06-02T08:40:53","modified_gmt":"2023-06-02T13:40:53","slug":"pronouns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=85285","title":{"rendered":"Pronouns"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Minnesota is transferring his first transgender female to the Shakopee women\u2019s prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Minnesota&#39;s prison system says it will move a transgender inmate to a facility matching their gender identity, a first for the department since it updated its policy. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/BiZT6RXgTg\">https:\/\/t.co\/BiZT6RXgTg<\/a><\/p>&mdash; KSTP (@KSTP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KSTP\/status\/1664325696578002950?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 1, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p> But I\u2019m not here to talk about the obvious issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No &#8211; there are two issues that go way beyond putting (deep breath) bio-men into women&#8217;s prisons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stay In Your Lane<\/strong>:  Shakopee is referred to as a &#8220;women&#8217;s. prison&#8221;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is the MN Department of Corrections a bunch of biologists?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do are they experts in what &#8220;women&#8221; are?  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfchronicle.com\/opinion\/openforum\/article\/male-female-binary-sex-18087147.php\">Like this PhD<\/a>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Which leads us to another, inarguably more serious problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pronouns Pronouns Pronouns<\/strong>: What&#8217;s in the world &#8220;Prison?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The word &#8220;Son&#8221;.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since we don&#8217;t know the genders of the incarcerated (indeed, the incarcerated themselves may not know at any given time), it&#8217;s time to change the name of the facility to &#8220;Shakopee Prixyn&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>(Anyone want to check and see if the DFL puts all of this on their legislative agenda next session?)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Minnesota is transferring his first transgender female to the Shakopee women\u2019s prison.
