{"id":82927,"date":"2022-07-26T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-26T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=82927"},"modified":"2022-07-25T09:33:08","modified_gmt":"2022-07-25T14:33:08","slug":"your-lying-eyes-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=82927","title":{"rendered":"Your Lying Eyes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Most of the hard, empirical realizations I&#8217;ve had as a result of this blog started as satirical, sardonic or otherwise flippant remarks that turned out, to my amazement, to be true.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The canon of &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?page_id=5033\">Berg&#8217;s Law&#8221;<\/a> is the closest I&#8217;ve got to a &#8220;famous&#8221; example.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Less flippant?  My ever-more-frequent observation that Democrat politicians can tell &#8220;their&#8221; voters pretty much anything that suits them, because their base just doesn&#8217;t do critical thinking.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Case in point:  the Administration apparently wants to borrow a page from Elizabeth Warren, and have the economy &#8220;identify&#8221; as healthy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/JacquiHeinrich\/status\/1551241924396343296\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In <em>1984<\/em>, the regime released the news that the chocolate rationwas being cut from 35 grams to 25 grams, by announcing that it was  <em>actually an increase from 20 grams<\/em>.
