Literally, not once since, maybe, college.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And I&#8217;m not about to start. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But I will say that I <em>wanted <\/em>to say this; in the entire history of standup comedy, I don&#8217;t believe anyone&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Watch the uncensored moment Will Smith smacks Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars, drops F-bomb\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/myjEoDypUD8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;has handled a heckler quite like that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I wanted to. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But I won&#8217;t.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I will, however, say this:  It&#8217;s entirely possible that the entire episode &#8211; the miked-jiust-well-enough audio, Smith stepping into the exact right &#8220;mark&#8221; to &#8220;throw&#8221; the &#8220;punch&#8221; so the camera angle couldn&#8217;t see the &#8220;impact&#8221;, Rock&#8217;s cool, calm, collected &#8220;response&#8221; to the &#8220;hit&#8221; &#8211; wasn&#8217;t a perfectly constructed &#8220;stage punch&#8221;, straight out of a community theater production of West Side Story. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But if it were, it wouldn&#8217;t have come across any differently. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I never watch the Oscars.
