Democrats and Never-Trumpers got a few yuks out of that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Big Left thought Ron DeSantis had &#8220;disappeared&#8221;.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The only thing that disappeared was, apparently, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/news\/ron-desantis-was-accompanying-wife-to-cancer-treatments-as-aoc-accused-him-of-going-missing\/?utm_source=recirc-desktop&amp;utm_medium=homepage&amp;utm_campaign=river&amp;utm_content=featured-content-trending&amp;utm_term=third\">whatever sense of humanity Tide Pod Evita might have once claimed<\/a> (emphasis added):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The governor reportedly <strong>accompanied his wife Casey to medical appointments for breast cancer<\/strong> on December 29 as critics claimed he had abandoned his post, DeSantis spokeswoman Christina Pushaw told Fox News&#8230;.DeSantis spokespeople jumped to the governor\u2019s defense after Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) suggested that the governor was \u201cinextricably missing\u201d  [sic] and ignoring his responsibilities over the last couple of weeks. The congresswoman retorted with that comment on Twitter after she was criticized for visiting Miami Beach on a leisure trip on Friday.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Inextricably missing?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If Lauren Boebert had said that, it&#8217;d have made Stephen Colbert&#8217;s leg tingly for two weeks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cHasn\u2019t Gov. DeSantis been inexplicably missing for like 2 weeks?\u201d she shot back on Twitter in response to a tweet from Team DeSantis welcoming her to Florida after\u00a0National Review\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/news\/aoc-responds-to-miami-beach-photo-controversy-wheres-desantis\/\">published photos of her seated outside<\/a>\u00a0Doraku Sushi and Izakaya in Miami Beach Thursday afternoon, raising a cocktail in one and checking her phone in another.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Oh, yeah &#8211; speaking of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/aoc-conservatives-hate-me-because-theyre-so-sexually-frustrated\/?utm_source=recirc-desktop&amp;utm_medium=homepage&amp;utm_campaign=river&amp;utm_content=featured-content-trending&amp;utm_term=second\">leaving their district during a crisis<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saddled with a senile President and a party that&#8217;s divided but driven by its radical left, Democrats are reaching for one of the few weapons they have left: the appeal to ridicule.
