Someone who goes out and gets the who, what, when, where, why and how of a story.   Comforts the afflicted and afflicts the comfortable, as Nick Coleman used to say (but never do). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking of saying but never doing reporting? What&#8217;s the term &#8211; we heard it all the time during the Trump administration, from reporters big and small&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Chilling Effect on reporting and transparency?&#8221;  (Whatever <em>did <\/em>happen to that term, anyway)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aren&#8217;t there groups of &#8220;journalists&#8221; dedicated to keeping the press free?
