{"id":78246,"date":"2021-06-07T07:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-07T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=78246"},"modified":"2021-06-06T16:06:06","modified_gmt":"2021-06-06T21:06:06","slug":"just-another-man-of-peace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=78246","title":{"rendered":"Just Another Man Of Peace"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Winston Smith, the man killed last week in Uptown, <a href=\"https:\/\/alphanewsmn.com\/minneapolis-man-shot-by-police-published-plans-for-war-to-kill-cops\/\">was apparently already &#8220;at war&#8221; with the police<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Smith\u2019s violent resistance to arrest may have been motivated by his belief that he was engaged in a \u201cwar\u201d on cops.<\/p><p>For years leading up to his death, Smith made statements across social media platforms vowing to shoot police officers if he were ever to be apprehended, encouraging his followers to bring guns and bombs to protests and outlining tactics he believed would be most effective to kill members of law enforcement. He also frequently suggested that he was meeting with like-minded people and taking tangible steps towards these aims.<\/p><p><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=RvbAftCj5rA\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cGet ready for war,\u201d Smith told his followers via\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/tv\/CNn2o1SlDwy\/?utm_medium=copy_link\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram<\/a>\u00a0in mid-April.<\/p><p>\u201cMotherfuckers are finna move on these \u2018ops,\u201d he continued, using a slang term that means people would attack police.<\/p><p>\u201cAll the shooters, suit up,\u201d he ordered. \u201cLace your boots up, it\u2019s war fucking time. Bring your gun to the protest, bring them fucking bombs and rocket launchers and all that shit.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Even some of the local media &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox9.com\/news\/winston-smith-shooting-rally-held-in-uptown-for-third-night-after-law-enforcement-shooting\">in this case, ,reliably left-of-center Fox9<\/a> &#8211;  are taking their break from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=24056\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"24056\">Twin Cities media&#8217;s usual &#8220;write a hagiography first, <\/a>ask questions later&#8221; procedure and noting that there just might be an elephant in this particular room. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UPDATE:  It&#8217;s unclear from media or law enforcement reports whether Smith was involved in January 6, the only example of violence in American history. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Winston Smith, the man killed last week in Uptown, was apparently already &#8220;at war&#8221; with the police: Smith\u2019s violent resistance to arrest may have been motivated by his belief that he was engaged in a \u201cwar\u201d on cops.
