{"id":77418,"date":"2021-04-09T07:15:00","date_gmt":"2021-04-09T12:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=77418"},"modified":"2021-04-06T15:28:20","modified_gmt":"2021-04-06T20:28:20","slug":"hackery-most-foul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=77418","title":{"rendered":"Hackery Most Foul"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>John Hinderaker asks a question many of us have been mulling for nearly two decades:  why does <em>60 Minutes <\/em>still exist?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s a holdover from a time when American media held some general (and often ill-deserved) respect for fairness and, if not &#8220;objectivity&#8221; (that&#8217;s a myth) at least detachment.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But between Rathergate, 17 years ago, and last week&#8217;s revelations that the show presented an &#8220;expose&#8221; of Ron DeSantis edited so far out of context as to be an absolute lie, it bids the critical thinker to ask:  why is the show still on the air at all, if not to serve as a Democrat PR production?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.powerlineblog.com\/archives\/2021\/04\/why-does-60-minutes-still-exist.php?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=sw&amp;utm_campaign=sw\">Hinderaker has the original, and edtied-out, text<\/a>.  It is beyond damning.
