Experts say he needs a \u2018miracle\u2019 to be right.\u201d Similarly, ABC News ran a report titled, \u201cTrump promises coronavirus vaccine by the end of the year, but his own experts temper expectations.\u201d<\/p><p>Back then, vaccine skepticism, which is now nearly universally condemned, was acceptable at the highest levels of our politics. Asked if she would take a vaccine approved prior to the election, then-vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris said, \u201cWell, I think that\u2019s going to be an issue for all of us.\u201d<\/p><p>Now, these same vaccines are a key part of the success story that Biden wants to tell about his response to the pandemic, and so the Trump effort has to be ignored or run down. Biden has referred to \u201cthe mess\u201d he inherited, and Harris has said that \u201cin many ways we\u2019re starting from scratch on something that\u2019s been raging for almost an entire year.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>I was intensely skeptical that there&#8217;d be a vaccine in less than a couple years, this time last year.
