That its editorial slant is to the left is no surprise or problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their &#8220;journalistic&#8221; slant, on the other hand?   Democracy can not survive without institutions holding government accountable &#8211; and in Minnesota the ones ones you have are&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;(looks around)&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;PowerLine, AlphaNews, Tom Hauser on a good day, and the NARN. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Case in point:   in a couple decades of reporting on sex trafficking cases, I do not recall the Star Tribune mentioning the occupations of the accused.  Certainly not in the lede. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But now:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Pipeline workers among those arrested in sex trafficking sting<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XQBvColyj4\">https:\/\/t.co\/XQBvColyj4<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Star Tribune Duluth (@StribDuluth) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/StribDuluth\/status\/1364684743741042688?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 24, 2021<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Talk about  not so much burying the lede as inverting the story. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is the <em>Strib <\/em>trying to tie Enbridge 3 &#8211; one of the DFL&#8217;s <em>betes noire <\/em>&#8211; to sex trafficking? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Given that the pipeline workers&#8217; day jobs are paragraph 10 importance to the story, not headlines, waht do <em>y<\/em>ou think?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stipulated: The Star Tribune is a de facto DFL PR firm.
