{"id":76864,"date":"2021-02-15T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-02-15T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=76864"},"modified":"2021-02-14T09:13:41","modified_gmt":"2021-02-14T15:13:41","slug":"unityandhealing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=76864","title":{"rendered":"#UnityAndHealing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>My first thought in reading this story, I kid you not, is that I&#8217;m a little amazed a city government or law enforcement establishment <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chattanoogan.com\/2021\/2\/10\/423106\/Protest-Leader-Cameron-Williams-Fired.aspx\">actually did anything about an offense like this<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>After a hearing last Friday and conversations with the city attorney, the employment of part-time Library Specialist Cameron Dequintez Williams was terminated on Wednesday.<\/p><p>He was charged with burning books from the library written by conservative authors.<\/p><p>Library officials said, &#8220;The city of Chattanooga Human Resources Department completed its investigation of an allegation that books were removed from the Chattanooga Public Library\u2019s Main Branch on Dec.https:\/\/w.chattanoogan.com\/photo.aspx?a=8&amp;t=11, 2020.&nbsp;<\/p><p>&#8220;The investigation determined that part-time Library Specialist Cameron Williams violated city and Library policies by improperly removing items from the Library\u2019s collections.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>As one wag remarked:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&quot;We have to become real Nazis to stop the people we suspect are Nazis, don&#39;t you see!?&quot; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/HwYplpcLa4\">pic.twitter.com\/HwYplpcLa4<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Anen Igma (@Massanthrope) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Massanthrope\/status\/1360665079545528328?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 13, 2021<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, it remains to be seen if the real reason was that the library board wants to do all of that themselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bonus observation:   Am I the only one thinking Lt.
