As Usual."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Remember when &#8220;Electronic Pull Tabs&#8221; were going to get the taxpayer off the hook for paying for Zygi Wilf&#8217;s big real-estate upgrade?   Yeah, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=32287\">someone pointed out that that was baked monkey doodle<\/a>, and it wasn&#8217;t someone with a tin &#8220;Journalist&#8221; badge.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, Minneapolis and Minnesota government has been busy rationalizing riots and carnage in nursing homes lately, so the ongoing &#8211; and utterly  predictable disaster &#8211; of the Vikings Stadium has slipped from the headlines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, as predicted, Minneapolis is going to be going to the state taxpayer because it just can&#8217;t afford to pay for Helga Braid Nation&#8217;s entertainment anymore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>However, now that the city\u2019s first debt payment of $17 million is about to be due, DFL state Rep. Mohamud Noor says his city can\u2019t pay, according to the Minneapolis\/St. Paul Business Journal.<\/p><p>Noor, who was recently appointed chair of the House Workforce and Business Development Committee, said the coronavirus pandemic makes it impossible for his city to afford the stadium.<\/p><p>\u201c<strong>That was then<\/strong>,\u201d he said, speaking on the payment deal Minneapolis signed eight years ago, \u201cthis is now. We\u2019ve got a global pandemic.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>If you recall, <a href=\"https:\/\/alphanewsmn.com\/minneapolis-wants-greater-minnesota-to-foot-the-bill-for-vikings-stadium\/?fbclid=IwAR3M-PBEr5k3wmHsV1R6Rxib9jVO3H2L0T7aP2bl9kKU5fek5UHDxAS2DFk\">the city was on the hook forl about 13% of the cost of the stadium<\/a> &#8211; about $150 million (emphasis added by me):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Who&#8217;s got two thumbs, writes a blog and hosts a weeken talk show and predicted this about the time the stadium opened?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cI\u2019m just kind of surprised that they\u2019re taking this approach,\u201d remarked Republican state Sen. Julie Rosen, according to the Star Tribune. \u201cIt [the original agreement] was a very good deal for Minneapolis.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Arguing economics, finance or logic with the Minneapolis City Council is a little like arguing hip-hop technique with Mitch McConnell.
