{"id":73950,"date":"2020-04-30T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-04-30T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=73950"},"modified":"2020-04-27T14:11:46","modified_gmt":"2020-04-27T19:11:46","slug":"let-them-eat-doordash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=73950","title":{"rendered":"Let Them Eat DoorDash"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Well, at least <em>someones <\/em>having fun during this epidemic.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Earth Day&#8221; brought out the climate ghouls, who helpfully <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/04\/22\/climate-activists-cheer-coronavirus-misery-in-name-of-environment-devine\/\">pointed out that Covid had done in three months what decades of their activism couldn&#8217;t<\/a> &#8211; &#8220;cleaned up&#8221; the world by dumping a lot of it into poverty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Thunberg, the 17-year-old Swedish climate evangelist, did caution her fellow warriors not to be too \u201coptimistic\u201d about the pause in carbon pollution because the \u00adso-called climate crisis \u201cis not slowing down.\u201d<\/p><p>But other activists seized the pandemic opportunity to push their agenda, as Democrats tried to shoehorn their Green New Deal into economic relief bills.<\/p><p>\u201cNeither Greenpeace, nor Greta Thunberg, nor any other individual or collective organization have achieved so much in favor of the health of the planet in such a short time,\u201d Spanish scientist Mart\u00edn L\u00f3pez Corredoira&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.science20.com\/martin_lopez_corredoira\/the_benefits_of_coronavirus_for_the_health_of_the_planet-245939\" target=\"_blank\">crowed on the Science 2.0 blog<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Just as I&#8217;ve observed that support for drastic lockdowns (outside of hotspots and groups of the very vulnerable) are tightly correlated with people with government paychecks or show-biz residuals, the whole notion of profiting politically from the pandemic is <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/04\/23\/how-cowardice-and-class-privilege-divide-support-for-coronavirus-lockdowns\/?fbclid=IwAR3uD_ilduW49K9tjxdP15anCwiGbKngY0e2noqqZWRhSp9twHelHaleDho\">closely related to class privilege<\/a>.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=63101\">you know that already<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, at least someones having fun during this epidemic. &#8220;Earth Day&#8221; brought out the climate ghouls, who helpfully pointed out that Covid had done in three months what decades of their activism couldn&#8217;t &#8211; &#8220;cleaned up&#8221; the world by dumping a lot of it into poverty.
