Emergency powers exist for a reason (and we will get to that today or tomorrow).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But when citizens &#8211; taxpayers, business owners &#8211; can expect the government to <em>always side with lawlessness<\/em>, against them, how is popular self-government supposed to survive? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can&#8217;t. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I do, sincerely, wonder how this nation can carry on as one big entity.
