{"id":72847,"date":"2019-12-18T11:00:23","date_gmt":"2019-12-18T17:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=72847"},"modified":"2019-12-17T15:05:08","modified_gmt":"2019-12-17T21:05:08","slug":"youve-been-progsplained","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=72847","title":{"rendered":"You&#8217;ve Been Progsplained!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Ivy League academic, continuing Big Left&#8217;s urge to appropriate and pervert every aspect of society no matter how innocuous or innocent, progsplains that <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/issues\/tlaib-blames-white-supremacy-for-anti-semitic-murders-carried-out-by-black-assailants\/\">the classic claymation Christmas special <\/a><em><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/issues\/tlaib-blames-white-supremacy-for-anti-semitic-murders-carried-out-by-black-assailants\/\">Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer<\/a><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/issues\/tlaib-blames-white-supremacy-for-anti-semitic-murders-carried-out-by-black-assailants\/\"> is actually classically &#8220;queer&#8221;<\/a>, and that conservatives who object just don&#8217;t understand Christmas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer&#8221; is a \u201cqueer\u201d icon whether \u201cconservatives\u201d like it or not, according to one Ivy League professor.<br>Columbia University English professor&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/sexes\/archive\/2013\/05\/every-single-family-in-the-world-is-a-nontraditional-family\/275505\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jennifer Finney Boylan<\/a>, has offered a whole new take on the classic Christmas claymation &#8220;Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,&#8221; claiming that the film is \u201cthe queerest holiday special ever\u201d in a recent&nbsp;<em>New York Times<\/em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/12\/11\/opinion\/rudolph-christmas-queer.html\" target=\"_blank\">opinion piece.<\/a>&nbsp;<br><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>But wait.\u00a0 There&#8217;s more.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>Boylan began a gender transition to live as a woman at the age of 42. In her article, she compares her life experience to the Christmas classic, saying, \u201cthe subtext of this ridiculous story was the truth of my own improbable life. A fabulously blond elf who doesn\u2019t like to make toys? A reindeer who is cast out by those who are supposed to love him, on account of an accident of birth?\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Of course <\/em>&#8220;she&#8221; did.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those moments when Avery Librelle seems just too realistic&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But forget what you know, because progsplain.
