{"id":72672,"date":"2019-11-25T05:00:47","date_gmt":"2019-11-25T11:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=72672"},"modified":"2019-11-19T14:12:05","modified_gmt":"2019-11-19T20:12:05","slug":"the-minnesota-medical-association-jumps-the","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=72672","title":{"rendered":"The Minnesota Medical Association Jumps The&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>&#8230;I was going to say &#8220;shark&#8221;, but it&#8217;s really just a 50-something ninny with ELCA Hair and a shark fin taped to their collar who <em>identifies <\/em>as a shark. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minnesotans&#8217; main concerns about healthcare &#8211; about which the MMA is putatively supposed to be concerned, itself &#8211; are affordability and access.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Naturally,  <a href=\"https:\/\/alphanewsmn.com\/minnesota-medical-association-sets-confiscation-of-firearms-as-priority-in-2020\/?fbclid=IwAR1rQsC84Hcmvz7Rbfxc0GEM_KHXrq8LGj8B3cBni-WsNHINJOg3D1Xl21k\">they&#8217;ve made gun confiscation among their top  priorities<\/a> for the 2020 Legislature:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>In the recent report outlining priorities for 2020, Gun Control is listed as number 2, above any policy that would drive down the cost of healthcare or increase access to patients.<br>The priorities outlined by MMA include:<\/p><p><strong>2.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Prevent firearm injury and death\u00a0<\/strong><br>a.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Expand criminal background checks to all firearm transfers and sales<br>b.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Enact a \u201cred flag\u201d law to allow law enforcement to protect those who may be a danger to themselves or others<br>c.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Authorize the use of firearm ownership data for public health research or epidemiologic investigation<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Naturally, none of their proposals have anything to do with health.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a further step down the path toward &#8220;progressivizing&#8221; all institutions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;I was going to say &#8220;shark&#8221;, but it&#8217;s really just a 50-something ninny with ELCA Hair and a shark fin taped to their collar who identifies as a shark.
