Seattle Public Schools adopt program that turns math into yet another grievance studies program<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n In October, Seattle public schools\u00a0unveiled<\/a>\u00a0a \u201cframework\u201d to inject\u00a0\u201cmath ethnic studies\u201d<\/a>\u00a0into\u00a0all K-12<\/a>\u00a0math classes, teaching \u201chow math has been and continues to be used to oppress and marginalize people and communities of color.\u201d It almost reads like the Babylon Bee<\/em> – which is something I realize I’m saying a lot <\/em>about the modern American left:<\/p>\n\n\n\n The curriculum was pushed by the school district\u2019s ethnic studies program manager, Tracy Castro-Gill, who on Oct. 19 tweeted a picture with her \u201cMarxist ringleader\u201d and said the \u201cnext step is matching \u201cINDOCTRINATED\u201d t-shirts!\u201d I used to joke that pretty much every “radical atheist” was a Catholic or Evangelical with Daddy issues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n And yet again, the joke is reality:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Castro-Gill wrote on her blog that her mother is white and her father is Hispanic, but that she has a strained relationship.
Students will be asked to \u201cidentify the inherent inequities of the standardized testing system used to oppress and marginalize people and communities of color\u201d and \u201cexplain how math dictates economic oppression.\u201d
\u201cWhy\/how does data-driven processes prevent liberation?\u201d it asks. \u201cHow important is it to be Right? What is Right? Says Who?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am an educator of color in Seattle whose job is anti-racist work within the school district. Seattle is very white \u2014 nearly 70%. It\u2019s also one of the most liberal cities in the US, and these liberal, white Seattleites hate being called racist, but the thing is \u2013 a lot of them are,\u201d she\u00a0wrote<\/a>.
Though she was hired by the superintendent and the school board, Castro-Gill said criticisms of the math proposal from one board member\u2019s Asian wife were\u00a0racist<\/a>. She also asked people to \u201chelp me push\u201d the board and superintendent to oppose \u201crewhiting<\/a>.\u201d

She is also at odds with her child\u2019s father after their child declared herself \u201cnonbinary\u201d after reading literature about transgenderism.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
