{"id":72394,"date":"2019-10-14T11:00:08","date_gmt":"2019-10-14T16:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=72394"},"modified":"2019-10-13T09:43:06","modified_gmt":"2019-10-13T14:43:06","slug":"minnesota-department-of-predictive-intersectional-hate-hoaxing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=72394","title":{"rendered":"Minnesota Department Of Predictive Intersectional Hate Hoaxing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Gary Gross, proprietor of Saint Cloud&#8217;s <em>Let Freedom Ring <\/em>blog, noticed something fishy in the <em>Saint Cloud Times<\/em>&#8216; coverage of the postponement of a &#8220;Dismantling Hate Crimes&#8221; meeting being held in Saint Cloud. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Times carried a statement from MInnesota Department of Human Rights commissioner Rebecca Lucero about the postponement.  I&#8217;ll add some emphasis:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cHate is not a value in St. Cloud or in any part of our state. Our community deserves better,\u201d said Minnesota Department of Human Rights Commissioner Rebecca Lucero. \u201cI am heartbroken by <strong>the attempts to silence discussion on hate crimes<\/strong>. The goal of the forum was to discuss the community we want to create. One that is full of dignity and joy.\u201d<br><br><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The &#8220;attempt to silence&#8221; the discussion was a protest against the event, and ostensible threats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Gary did something that the Times apparently doesn&#8217;t, anymore; checked the facts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Found in their own coverage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>If they had done that, they would have read the quote from Assistant Police Chief Jeff Oxton, who said that the SCPD hadn\u2019t received any threats regarding the event.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>And the timeline (again adding emphasis):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8230;<strong>the event was cancelled at 1:16 p.m.<\/strong> That\u2019s the timestamp on the Facebook post from the St. Cloud Regional Human Rights Commission announcing the cancellation of the event. <strong>That\u2019s important because the &#8220;protesters&#8221; didn\u2019t arrive until 2 p.m<\/strong>.<br>Isn\u2019t it interesting that the event got cancelled before the protesters showed up? Why would the Minnesota Department of Human Resources and the St. Cloud Regional Human Rights Commission cancel an event that didn\u2019t get threatened?<br><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Because communicating with &#8220;progressive&#8221; audiences is never about facts.
