{"id":71024,"date":"2019-04-10T07:13:58","date_gmt":"2019-04-10T12:13:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=71024"},"modified":"2019-04-10T07:22:43","modified_gmt":"2019-04-10T12:22:43","slug":"only-in-a-red-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=71024","title":{"rendered":"Only In A Red State"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Frothy lefty bureaucrat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ktoo.org\/2019\/04\/05\/state-board-suspends-agency-director-over-rifle-sticker-complaint\/\">suspended for trying to &#8220;shame&#8221; a gun owner\/activist.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If this were in a Blue state, you&#8217;d expect that to be, perhaps, the beginning of a piece of quixotic litigation by wronged conservatives.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But it&#8217;s a Red state. Justice actually happened:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The executive director of the Alaska human rights [what else? &#8211; Ed] commission has been suspended for 15 working days without pay for complaining on social media about a \u201cBlack Rifles Matter\u201d sticker she believed to be racist on a vehicle in the commission\u2019s Anchorage parking lot.<br>Commission members voted 5-2 Friday to suspend Marti Buscaglia, effective Monday. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s worth noting that one of the dissenters thought the punishment  was too lenient.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One thing you have to get down to paragraph five to find out &#8211; Buscaglia used her departments&#8217; Facebook page for her &#8220;shaming&#8221;.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>Buscaglia, a former newspaper publisher in Alaska and Minnesota, declined comment in an email to The Associated Press.<\/em><br><em>Last month, Buscaglia saw the sticker on Linegar\u2019s vehicle and posted a photo of it on <strong>the commission\u2019s Facebook<\/strong> page asking, \u201cIn what world is this OK?\u201d<\/em><br><em>Linegar, who has a plumbing and heating business, has said the truck was his and that his company was doing repairs at the building that day. He has said that he understood the stickers to be about gun safety and \u201cSecond Amendment awareness.\u201d<\/em><br><em>In his statement to the AP, Linegar said Buscaglia should never have made those comments on social media. \u201cIf she wanted to simply have a conversation with me, then a note to that effect could have been left on my windshield. Instead, she saw fit to write a different type of note, put my truck on Facebook on the State page \u2026,\u201d he said.<\/em><br><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, this is in a hard red state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Connecticut, California, or some parts of Minnesota, Linegar would have a SWAT team &#8211; figurative or literal &#8211; breaking down his door, figuratively or literally. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Frothy lefty bureaucrat suspended for trying to &#8220;shame&#8221; a gun owner\/activist.
