{"id":70018,"date":"2019-02-13T11:00:50","date_gmt":"2019-02-13T17:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=70018"},"modified":"2019-02-13T10:13:12","modified_gmt":"2019-02-13T16:13:12","slug":"why-does-governor-walz-hate-the-environment-and-want-rural-minnesotans-to-die-flaming-deaths","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=70018","title":{"rendered":"Why Does Governor Walz Hate The Environment And Want Rural Minnesotans To Die Flaming Deaths?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Governor Walz <a href=\"http:\/\/www.startribune.com\/walz-says-state-will-continue-court-appeal-of-enbridge-pipeline-approved-by-puc\/505716732\/\">provides the service for which Big Environmental paid good money<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notwithstanding the fact that the Enbridge pipeline would replace hundreds \/ thousands of derailment-prone tanker cars and crash-able \u00abtrucks that currently transit populated areas <em>and<\/em> sensitive environments with a pipeline that will be gallon-for-gallon vastly safer for both people and the ecology; Walz knows who he&#8217;s working for. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arguably the bigger crime?  The twaddle he plopped out there to justify &#8220;his&#8221; decision. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ll add some emphasis:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Gov. Tim Walz will continue pursuing a court appeal started by his predecessor that could block Enbridge from building a controversial $2.6 billion oil pipeline across northern Minnesota.<br>Under former Gov. Mark Dayton, the Commerce Department appealed the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission\u2019s (PUC\u2019s) decision to allow Enbridge to build the pipeline, a replacement for its aging and corroding Line 3. Last month, the Walz administration said it would review the appeal.<br>\u201cBy continuing that process, our administration will raise the Department of Commerce\u2019s concerns to the court in hopes of gaining further clarity for all involved,\u201d Walz said in a statement. \u201cAs I often say, <strong>projects like these don\u2019t only need a building permit to go forward, they also need a social permit<\/strong>. Our administration has met with groups on all sides of this issue, and <strong>Minnesotans deserve clarity<\/strong>.\u201d<br><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Social permit&#8221;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That is two steps from fluent Duckspeak. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following it up with a platitude like &#8220;Minnesotans deserve clarity&#8221; adds rhetorical insult to Orwellian injury.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Governor Walz; your leash is showing. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governor Walz provides the service for which Big Environmental paid good money.
