In the past, the \u201cwomen-only\u201d argument was that a woman\u2019s body should be free from government intrusion.\u00a0 Government shouldn\u2019t have the power to force her to carry a child, and neither should anybody else.\u00a0 That\u2019s involuntary servitude, a fancy of saying sexual slavery, which is evil.\u00a0 Plainly, the woman is the only person with a right to decide what happens to her body, including whether to terminate the pregnancy by abortion.
But under the proposed law, the carrying is done.\u00a0 The baby is out of her body.\u00a0 No slavery involved.\u00a0 So why should only the woman get to decide whether the baby lives or dies? Why isn\u2019t the father involved?\u00a0 For that matter, why isn\u2019t the baby involved? \u00a0\u00a0Who speaks on behalf of the living, breathing, child lying on the table?\u00a0 Shouldn\u2019t there be someone appointed to defend the child\u2019s rights including the most fundamental right of all \u2013 the right to be alive?\u00a0\u00a0
