It’s close to becoming a Berg’s Law: terms like “White Privilege”, “Misogyny”, “Bigotry”, “Hate” and “Mansplaining” are rarely anything more than ad\u00a0homina\u00a0<\/em>that one can use without being accused of trafficking in a logical fallacy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe after CNN “Legal Analyst” Areva Martin’s performance yesterday on Sirius XM’s David Webb show<\/a>, we could start talking about changing that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The embarrassing moment occurred during a discussion about experience being more important than race when determining whether or not someone is qualified for a particular job.
\u201cI\u2019ve chosen to cross different parts of the media world, done the work so that I\u2019m qualified to be in each one. I never considered my color the issue, I considered my qualifications the issue,\u201d Webb said.
\u201cThat\u2019s a whole, another long conversation about white privilege, the things that you have the privilege of doing, that people of color don\u2019t have the privilege of,\u201d said Martin\u00a0\u2013 who also hosts CBS\u2019 \u201cFace the Truth.\u201d
A dumbfounded Webb asked, \u201cHow do I have the privilege of white privilege?\u201d<\/a>
Martin responded, \u201cDavid, by virtue of being a white male you have white privilege.\u201d
The Fox Nation host then explained that he was actually black.
\u201cI stand corrected,\u201d Martin\u00a0said.
