Over the years, I’ve pointed out – with absolute accuracy – that you have never made a single statement about guns, gun owners, gun history, gun laws, the 2nd Amendment or gun crime that was simultaneously substantial, original and true.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Here’s the good news:\u00a0 \u00a0your claims above are substantial, and, er, “original”.\u00a0 But they are howlers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Run<\/strong> Awaaaaaaay<\/strong>:\u00a0 \u00a0First – you say “police in Minnesota can already use the Stand Your Ground defense”.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Well, yeah.\u00a0 That’s right.\u00a0 The police don’t have a “duty to retreat” when\u00a0doing their jobs<\/em>.\u00a0 \u00a0Unlike civilians, they are supposed to run\u00a0toward\u00a0<\/em>trouble.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

They don’t have “Stand your Ground”.\u00a0 \u00a0They have “Qualified Immunity” – not only no obligation to try to retreat, but a mulligan for mistakes made in generally good faith in the line of duty.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Question for you, “Reverend” Nord Bence:\u00a0 Would you prefer that police also be required to run away from criminals?\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Just curious.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Shoot Off Your Unqualified Mouth First, As Questions Later:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Next comes the notion that self-defense reform would give citizens “the same right to shoot first and ask questions later” that cops “have”.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nope.\u00a0 It merely means that citizens don’t have to convince a county attorney that they tried\u00a0hard enough\u00a0<\/em>to run away from a threat (that was otherwise a reasonable threat of death or grave injury), provided you were anyplace you had a legal reason to be.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That’s it.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

It’s not a license to kill.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And I suspect you know that – and are lying anyway, to logroll the gullible dolts who take you seriously.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

Either that or you are a deeply, deeply stupid person.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

My money says “both”.\u00a0<\/p>\n
