{"id":68443,"date":"2018-11-02T12:00:08","date_gmt":"2018-11-02T17:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=68443"},"modified":"2018-11-01T23:17:19","modified_gmt":"2018-11-02T04:17:19","slug":"the-things-men-without-women-do-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=68443","title":{"rendered":"The Things Men Without Women Do"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m doing something tonight I should have done 35 years ago &#8211; going to see Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul at the Ames in Burnsville.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Who?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s better known as Steve Van Zandt &#8211; aka &#8220;Miami Steve&#8221; from the E Street Band, or Silvio Dante from\u00a0<em>The Sopranos.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=5367\">as I wrote in this space six years ago<\/a>, the band&#8217;s debut album\u00a0<em>Men Without Women\u00a0<\/em>is one of my three favorite albums.\u00a0 Ever.<\/p>\n<p>Ever!<\/p>\n<p><em>Men Without Women\u00a0<\/em>was a horn-driven &#8220;white soul&#8221; record reminiscent of Stax\/Volt, that reminded some critics of the Rolling Stones&#8217; <em>Exile on Main Street<\/em>.\u00a0 \u00a0It was recorded with an all-star cast of New York \/ New Jersey artists &#8211; Dino Danelli and Max Weinberg on drums, Felix Cavaliere and Roy Bittan on keys, Jean Bouvoir on bass, and the horn section from the Asbury Jukes (and, later, the Max Weinberg Seven and, today, the E Street Band).<\/p>\n<p>And it was glorious. This was from two years ago:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jJeuYoujAec\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This?
