{"id":66590,"date":"2018-04-18T11:00:35","date_gmt":"2018-04-18T16:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=66590"},"modified":"2018-04-15T19:30:01","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T00:30:01","slug":"virtue-stomping","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=66590","title":{"rendered":"Virtue-Stomping"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dick&#8217;s Sporting Goods has earned the ire of 2nd Amendment human rights activists, over and over.<\/p>\n<p>In 2013, they publicly announced they were out of the &#8220;assault weapon&#8221; business after the Newtown shooting (where a deranged boy killed his mother to get her AR15).<\/p>\n<p>They apparently slowly retrenched, because they publicly did it\u00a0<em>again\u00a0<\/em>after the Parkland shooting.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing like conviction.<\/p>\n<p>But now, they want to take it to the next level&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;of virtue-signaling stupidity:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>After announcing policies that most gun owners saw as alienating, Dick\u2019s Sporting Goods said it will go one step further and destroy its remaining inventory of firearms dubbed \u201cassault weapons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A spokeswoman told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that the remaining inventory at the retailer\u2019s Field &amp; Streams stores will be destroyed and then recycled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are in the process of destroying all firearms and accessories that are no longer for sale as a result of our February 28th policy change,\u201d she said. \u201cWe are destroying the firearms in accordance with federal guidelines and regulations.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I&#8217;m sure the shareholders will be thrilled.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dick&#8217;s Sporting Goods has earned the ire of 2nd Amendment human rights activists, over and over.
