The Dow dropped 666 points <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/thetwo-way\/2018\/02\/02\/582809604\/dow-plummets-more-550-points\">to close at 25,520<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 An article from Obama\u2019s time, 2015, <a href=\"https:\/\/moneymorning.com\/2015\/08\/25\/the-10-biggest-drops-in-dow-jones-industrial-average-history\/\">shows the 10 worst drops in history<\/a>.\u00a0 His was number 10.<br \/>\nThe analysts are using points instead of percentages which makes it sound scary but is it really?\u00a0 If the Dow was at 10,000 points and dropped 1,000, that\u2019s a 10% drop but if it\u2019s at 20,000 points and drops 1,000, that\u2019s a 5% drop, only half as bad.\u00a0 Trump\u2019s drop of 666 on 26,000 is 2.5%, not the worst in history, doesn\u2019t even make in the top 10. \u00a0 It\u2019s a blip.<br \/>\nWhy do you suppose an English major can figure that out, but all the sophisticated market analysts in the media cannot?<br \/>\nJoe Doakes<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Make no mistake &#8211; they can figure it out.<\/p>\n<p>But the Demorat messaging plan is &#8220;Say whatever we need to; our audience is either in on the line, or isn&#8217;t smart enough to bother&#8221;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joe Doakes from Como Park emails: The Dow dropped the most points ever!\u00a0 Trump should stay away!
