{"id":65595,"date":"2018-01-03T07:00:04","date_gmt":"2018-01-03T13:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=65595"},"modified":"2018-01-02T19:33:57","modified_gmt":"2018-01-03T01:33:57","slug":"kicking-out-the-key-log","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=65595","title":{"rendered":"Kicking Out The Key Log"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Obama economy stayed sluggish, despite an avalanche of taxpayer and deficit cash, because businesses sat on their money; with cheap credit via &#8220;quantitative easing&#8221;, their cash on hand zoomed upward (leading to record high stock indices) &#8211; but job growth and productivity remained sluggish.\u00a0 \u00a0With regulations metastasizing and Obamacare lurking over everything like a that friend from high school who stopped by and you just\u00a0<em>know\u00a0<\/em>is going to hit you up for a loan, business played it very very safe.<\/p>\n<p>No more, it seems &#8211; or at least that seems to be written between the lines of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/01\/01\/us\/politics\/trump-businesses-regulation-economic-growth.html?utm_source=newsletter&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=newsletter_axiosam&amp;stream=top-stories&amp;_r=0\">this curiously schizophrenic\u00a0<em>NYTimes\u00a0<\/em>piece<\/a> that seems to make a little room for every possible angle in re Trump, economic or not:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p id=\"story-continues-4\" class=\"story-body-text story-content\" data-para-count=\"542\" data-total-count=\"4834\">Mr. Trump bragged in a news conference last month that he has rolled back 22 regulations for every new one \u2014 67 deregulatory actions, versus three new regulations. Often\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2017\/05\/01\/us\/politics\/trump-obama-regulations-reversed.html\">in conjunction with the Republican Congress<\/a>, his administration has canceled several rules approved at the end of the President Barack Obama\u2019s term, including a regulation on limiting mining debris in streams, a requirement that broadband providers obtain permission from customers to collect and use online information, and a ban on plastic bottles in national parks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text story-content\" data-para-count=\"263\" data-total-count=\"5097\">Administration officials said last month that, since January 2017, federal agencies have delayed, withdrawn or made inactive nearly 1,600 planned regulatory actions.
