A couple of days before Jesus was crucified, he was in the town of Bethany visiting the home of Simon the Leper.\u00a0 A woman dabbed expensive perfume on Him causing some of the disciples to object: \u00a0\u201cWhy has it been wasted? \u00a0We could have sold it to raise money for the poor.\u201d\u00a0 Jesus rebuked them, saying: \u201cLeave her alone.\u00a0 You\u2019ll always have poor people, you can help them whenever you like; but I won\u2019t always be with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll always have poor people?\u00a0 Liberals hate that idea.\u00a0 It\u2019s intolerable!\u00a0 We must eliminate poor people.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t matter why they\u2019re poor \u2013 the shiftless drunkard puking on his own shoes is just as deserving as his barefoot little girl in the torn dress, looking up with big brown eyes.\u00a0 Jesus was wrong!\u00a0 Jesus was a quitter!\u00a0 We refuse to accept His reality.\u00a0 God may have made the world in His image but we will remake the world in our image and there will be no income inequality, no reward for perseverance and no punishment for indolence, only perfect equality in all things.<\/p>\n

Heinlein\u2019s hinted at this in \u201cStranger in a Strange Land,\u201d when the Man from Mars learns about religion and happily proclaims: \u201cThou art God. I am God.\u00a0 All that groks is God.\u201d\u00a0 Well, Hell, if we\u2019re all God, then we have a perfect right to alter creation, to demand perfection.\u00a0 Forget the Garden of Eden, we can have paradise right here on Earth.\u00a0 We\u2019re entitled to it.\u00a0 We are God.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why Liberals hate Christ.\u00a0 They hate having competition.<\/p>\n
