Although Billboard could offer no details regarding the alleged racism<\/strong>, festival officials claimed the photographer and several white members of the audience reacted with \u201caggressive\u201d and \u201covert racism\u201d after Pimineta requested \u201cbrown girls to the front.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to the National Post, Allie O\u2019Manique, who shares management with Pimienta, said the female photographer would not budge from her position near the stage, prompting anger from some crowd members. O\u2019Manique, whose version of events was confirmed by Festival spokesman Trevor Murphy, said that Pimienta \u201cjust kept saying, \u2018Move to the back\u2019 \u2026 finally after saying it about 10 times \u2014 and the woman refused to move \u2014 [Pimienta] said, \u2018You\u2019re cutting into my set time, and you\u2019re disrespecting these women, and I don\u2019t have time for this.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
