Senator Diane Feinstein – who was for gun control back when it was cool, and still is – gave an “inadvertent” slip this past week <\/a>during a debate on “bump stocks” that pretty well spells out what gun control (AKA “Gun Safety”, “Gun Violence Prevention”) is actually about.<\/p>\n

Preventing crime?\u00a0 Preventing murders?\u00a0 Curbing spectacular spree crimes?<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, he passed background checks registering for handguns and other weapons on multiple occasions,\u201d Feinstein told CBS\u2019s \u201cFace the Nation.\u201d…\u201cRegulations aren\u2019t going to do it,\u201d Feinstein said on the need for a law over an ATF rule. \u201cWe need a law. It can\u2019t be changed by another president.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So – banning guns, accessories and types doesn’t affect crime, or save a single life.<\/p>\n

So why have it?<\/p>\n

\u201cAmerica is a gun-happy country. And I think there are many of us in growing numbers that don\u2019t want a gun-happy country,\u201d said DiFi.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So it’s about controlling all those\u00a0other\u00a0<\/em>people.<\/p>\n

Of course, this isn’t a mystery to anyone who’s followed this issue; the real enemy, to Senator Feinswine, isn’t the criminal (whose activities foster the dependence, bureaucracy and authoritarianism that keeps her in power).<\/p>\n
