Respondents aged 18-29 are\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.people-press.org\/2015\/08\/13\/continued-bipartisan-support-for-expanded-background-checks-on-gun-sales\/8-12-2015-3-58-40-pm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the least likely<\/a>\u00a0in the country to support a renewed ban on assault weapons, at 49 percent, a fact that has helped drive nationwide support down to a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/196658\/support-assault-weapons-ban-record-low.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">record low<\/a>. Pew\u2019s data suggest that those falling in the youngest age range have\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.people-press.org\/2017\/06\/22\/public-views-about-guns\/#age\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dropped the furthest<\/a>\u00a0in support for \u201cgun control\u201d since 2000<b>\u00a0<\/b>(when the alternative is presented as \u201cgun rights\u201d). And when the question concerns the National Rifle Association\u2019s top legislative priority, concealed carry,<b>\u00a0<\/b>millennials appear to lead the country. According to Gallup\u2019s version of the question in 2004, the notion that concealed guns made for safer spaces polled at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/1645\/guns.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">25 percent<\/a>; 11 years later, it registered\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/186263\/majority-say-concealed-weapons-safer.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">at 55 percent<\/a>\u00a0nationally.
