{"id":64363,"date":"2017-08-31T11:00:20","date_gmt":"2017-08-31T16:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=64363"},"modified":"2017-08-31T09:15:32","modified_gmt":"2017-08-31T14:15:32","slug":"autopilot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=64363","title":{"rendered":"Autopilot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The big screen has been consumed with comic book series and remakes of older movies &#8211; somtimes (Batman, Spiderman) movies that aren&#8217;t even all that terribly old.<\/p>\n<p>And now &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/tv-and-radio\/2017\/aug\/31\/tv-reboots-will-and-grace-roseanne-curb-your-enthusiasm\">the small screen<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p><em>Roseanne<\/em>, <em>Will and Grace<\/em> and <em>Curb Your Enthusiasm<\/em> are coming back.<\/p>\n<p>Wheeeeee.<\/p>\n<p>Never really cared for any of &#8217;em. \u00a0I mean, sure,\u00a0<em>Curb\u00a0<\/em>was funny, but in the same way the UK version of\u00a0<em>The Office\u00a0<\/em>was funny; the long slow buildup of hatred for Larry David was hilarious, but wore thin, fast&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>No word on \u00a0<em>Firefly\u00a0<\/em>or\u00a0<em>Freaks and Geeks.\u00a0<\/em>Both of which I finally binge-watched in the past eighteen months or so, and can finally see what all the fuss was about. \u00a0Although one minor beef with\u00a0<em>Freaks and Geeks<\/em>, which was set in more or less my senior year of high school, making it all the more cringe-worthy; while the final episode was at least in concept believable (I&#8217;m tiptoeing around spoiling things, here), did Judd Apatow really thing the Grateful Dead were relevant to high school seniors in 1980?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The big screen has been consumed with comic book series and remakes of older movies &#8211; somtimes (Batman, Spiderman) movies that aren&#8217;t even all that terribly old.
