One came to heal; the other, to protect. Now due to the fear and violence surrounding firearms, both have realized the American nightmare.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The mission of today&#8217;s DFL: \u00a0Deflect the glare from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the problem with police powers, especially qualified immunity<\/li>\n<li>an apparent problem with officer training (Minneapolis cops, I&#8217;m told, are trained to keep their fingers\u00a0<em>on\u00a0<\/em>the trigger at all times, in and among any number of other issues in the incident)<\/li>\n<li>suspicion about affirmative action hiring in police departments<\/li>\n<li>the extent to which the mayor and council&#8217;s embrace of Black Lives Matter has caused the police to &#8220;stand down&#8221; &#8211; taking action only when they\u00a0<em>see\u00a0<\/em>a felony\u00a0<em>in progress<\/em><\/li>\n<li>the social collapse of much of Minneapolis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8230;by jabbering about &#8220;fear and violence surrounding firearms&#8221; that were present only in the hands of the cop, whom the DFL would have us believe are the ones who\u00a0<em>can\u00a0<\/em>be &#8220;trusted&#8221; with that constitutional right.<\/p>\n<p>People of Eden Prairie; \u00a0you sent him to Saint Paul. \u00a0Take him back.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tragic shooting in South Minneapolis; \u00a0woman from Australia killed by cop originally from Somalia.
