{"id":63099,"date":"2017-05-15T06:00:50","date_gmt":"2017-05-15T11:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=63099"},"modified":"2017-05-12T11:15:41","modified_gmt":"2017-05-12T16:15:41","slug":"deranged","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=63099","title":{"rendered":"Deranged"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Berg&#8217;s Eighth Law\u00a0(&#8220;American liberalism\u2019s reaction to one of \u201ctheir\u201dconstituents \u2013 women, gays or people of color \u2013 running for office or otherwise identifying as a conservative is indistinguishable from sociopathic disorder&#8221;) gets overshadowed by the Seventh and, lately, the Eighteenth Laws.<\/p>\n<p>But it is no less universal &#8211; as that noted conservative tool, the\u00a0<em>City Pages<\/em>, noted last week. \u00a0 As we noted two weeks ago, new MNGOP chair Jennifer Carnahan stomped down hard on a fairly racist Facebook meme posted by the 7th CD. \u00a0 Even the City Pages approved:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For her part, Carnahan did everything right, wasting no time publicly apologizing and demanding the resignation of the person responsible.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But Berg&#8217;s Eighth Law reared its head:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>But as news of the Ellison post spread, hate mail started piling up in Carnahan\u2019s Facebook Messenger. People didn\u2019t seem to care that she wasn\u2019t the person who created the post. They called her a racist. They demanded she step down.
