…and I am not, but if I\u00a0were,\u00a0<\/em>I’d bet good money that the headline at the\u00a0Strib\u00a0<\/em>tomorrow will be something like:<\/p>\n

I can honestly say that I’d have voted for anyone in the field – Rick Rice, Dave Hann or Chris FIelds (who I figured would be the final two in the running) or the actual winner, Jennifer Carnahan.<\/p>\n

Not to say I doubted Carnahan’s merits; she went from attending her first GOP caucus 14 months ago, to running a very\u00a0<\/em>impressive MN Senate campaign in downtown Minneapolis, to the little Chair campaign that could. \u00a0 And I’ve interviewed her, and she is\u00a0<\/em>very much a force of nature in person. \u00a0 Not to say I doubted\u00a0<\/em>she’d win; I just thought the notoriously pragmatic State Central would make a more mainstream choice, like Hann or Fields.<\/p>\n

So I’m surprised, and happy about it all in all.<\/p>\n

I would, of course, be lying if I said that I was surprised by the depravity of today’s DFL.<\/p>\n
