\nPresident Trump issued an Executive Order on immigration last month, pursuant to a law passed by Congress and signed by President Obama two years ago. \u00a0\u00a0A Federal judge in California blocked it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>President Trump issued a revised Executive Order that took into account the judge\u2019s objections.\u00a0 A Federal judge in Hawaii has blocked the new order on the grounds that a Muslim Imam living in Hawaii may have a First Amendment right to invite anybody from anywhere in the world to come to Hawaii to visit him, if he feels like it, and therefore the United States government has no power to stop any invited guest from entering the country.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>This is sheer fantasy, of course, utterly unsupported by statute or any prior interpretation of the Constitution.\u00a0 If it went up the ladder to the Supreme Court, it would be . . . well, now wait a minute.\u00a0 That court is divided 4-4 because of the Scalia vacancy.\u00a0 We can\u2019t say what would happen.\u00a0 Neil Gorsuch was nominated to fill the Scalia seat.\u00a0 Did that happen?<\/span><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>No.\u00a0 The Establishment Republicans in Congress \u2013 the ones who supported Ted Cruz and Paul Ryan for President \u2013 the ones who swore \u201cNever Trump\u201d \u2013 are in charge of the Supreme Court nomination. \u00a0It\u2019s the single most important thing they have on their plate but it\u2019s stalled.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>They\u2019re busy, you see.\u00a0 They never thought Trump would win so they didn\u2019t bother making plans to repeal Obamacare.\u00a0 Now that he\u2019s dropped this tar-baby in their laps, they\u2019re atwitter over how to appear to be doing something to keep their phony-baloney jobs without doing anything that might make the New York Times call them names. \u00a0It\u2019s a conundrum, you see, which might possibly go away if they wait long enough and Trump is impeached.<\/span><\/p>\n
I read the other day that North Korea claims to have a nuclear missile capable of reaching Hawaii.\u00a0 Reeeeeeealy?\u00a0 Hmmmmmmmm.<\/span><\/p>\n
