AARONSON: \u00a0Excuse me – do you know the way to the Minnesota state capitol?<\/p>\n

BERG: \u00a0Er – you’re in it.<\/p>\n

AARONSON: \u00a0Ah. \u00a0Sorry. \u00a0I just got into Des Moines,<\/p>\n

BERG: \u00a0Saint Paul.<\/p>\n

AARONSON: \u00a0Right. \u00a0Saint \u00a0Paul. \u00a0I”m here for a hearing on a gun rights bill.<\/p>\n

BERG: \u00a0Ah. So am I. \u00a0The Constitutional Carry bill.<\/p>\n

AARONSON: \u00a0Yeah. \u00a0We’re supporting the bill that\u00a0we\u00a0<\/em>drew up. \u00a0It requires immediate dropping of all firearms regulations.<\/p>\n

BERG: \u00a0 Wow. \u00a0Who’s carrying it?<\/p>\n

AARONSON: \u00a0 Nobody has the\u00a0balls\u00a0<\/em>to carry this bill!<\/p>\n

BERG: \u00a0 Wow. \u00a0So how’s it ever going to pass?<\/p>\n

AARONSON: \u00a0It’s not supposed to pass. \u00a0 It’s supposed to educate the voters.<\/p>\n

BERG: \u00a0 Educate them…that the way to change policy and win freedom is to demand things that are politically impossible?<\/p>\n

AARONSON: \u00a0 You have to have the courage to demand the impossible, and nothing less! \u00a0It’s called the Politics of Confrontation, and we are masters of it!<\/p>\n

BERG: \u00a0Masters of…what? \u00a0What bills are you behind the passage of?<\/p>\n

AARONSON: \u00a0 We passed “Shall Issue” carry permitting in 2003…<\/p>\n

BERG: \u00a0No, you didn’t. \u00a0That was GOCRA!<\/p>\n

AARONSON: \u00a0 We passed the Capitol Carry, Silencers, the prohibition against confiscating guns after natural disasters…<\/p>\n

BERG: \u00a0 All of those were the result of GOCRA, MNGOPAC and the MNGOC. \u00a0Your group had nothing to do with any of those!<\/p>\n

AARONSON: \u00a0We educated voters to demand nothing less than everything!<\/p>\n

BERG: \u00a0But by demanding things that can not ever pass, you open the door for our rights to be further<\/p>\n

AARONSON: \u00a0 Anything less than everything is nothing, and anyone who settles for anything less than everything is a complete sell-out!<\/p>\n

BERG: \u00a0 You mean the legislators bringing the bills today…?<\/p>\n

AARONSON: \u00a0 Sellouts! \u00a0Cowards! \u00a0 Worthless collaborationists!<\/p>\n

BERG: So in other words, you and your group are focused exclusively on things that can only be reached incrementally – and you reject incrementalism. \u00a0Which means the goals can never be reached.<\/p>\n

AARONSON: \u00a0Only by people who are worthy!<\/p>\n

BERG: \u00a0Huh. \u00a0But if it can never be reached, and you keep fundraising forever on the issue…<\/p>\n

AARONSON: \u00a0Pretty sweet deal, huh?<\/p>\n

BERG: \u00a0 Huh. \u00a0Yes. \u00a0Yes it is.<\/p>\n
