{"id":58803,"date":"2016-05-20T05:00:16","date_gmt":"2016-05-20T10:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=58803"},"modified":"2016-05-15T11:27:35","modified_gmt":"2016-05-15T16:27:35","slug":"58803","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=58803","title":{"rendered":"Assimodation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Joe Doakes from Como Park emails:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">State Senate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/pages\/doctypes\/bills\/text.php?number=SF2356&amp;session=ls89&amp;version=latest&amp;session_number=0&amp;session_year=2016\"><span class=\"s2\">passed an omnibus bill<\/span><\/a> (not yet law).\u00a0 Section 8, Article 28, starting at line 195.20, says: \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Sec. 28. <\/span><span class=\"s3\"><b>IMMIGRATION INTEGRATION ADVISORY TASK FORCE.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">(a) The Immigration Integration Advisory Task Force is created to research state laws <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">and rules that negatively affect immigrants. The task force is composed of the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">(1) five members appointed by the governor to represent Minnesota&#8217;s diverse <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">immigrant communities;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">(2) two members of the house of representatives, one appointed by the speaker of <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">the house and one appointed by the minority leader; and<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">(3) two senators, one appointed by the senate majority leader and one appointed by <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">the senate minority leader.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">(b) At its first meeting, the task force shall elect a chair and cochair from its <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">membership. The commissioner of human rights shall provide meeting space and <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">administrative and staff support for the task force.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">(c) The task force shall conduct research and hold meetings to:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">(1) determine the extent to which current state laws and rules negatively affect <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">Minnesotans based on their status as immigrants; and<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">(2) develop methods to ensure that future proposed state laws and rules consider <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">the impact of the proposals on immigrants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">The task force shall consult with the Minnesota Council on Latino Affairs, the Council for <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">Minnesotans of African Heritage, and the Council on Asian-Pacific Minnesotans. The task <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">force shall report to the chairs and ranking minority members of the committees in the <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">house of representatives and the senate with jurisdiction over human rights by January 15, <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">2017, with recommendations and draft legislation for changes in state laws, consistent <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">with federal law, that will reduce the negative impact of state laws on immigrants, and <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">ensure that future state laws and rules consider the impact on immigrants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">(d) The appointing authorities must make their initial appointments by August 1, <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">2016. The commissioner of human rights shall convene the first meeting of the task <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">force by September 1, 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">(e) Public members shall be compensated and reimbursed for expenses as provided <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">in Minnesota Statutes, section 15.059, subdivision 3.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">(f) The task force shall expire on January 30, 2017, or the day after submitting the <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">report required under paragraph (c), whichever is earlier.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s3\"><b>EFFECTIVE DATE.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">This section is effective the day following final enactment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0So the DFL will pack it with Liberals and Rent Seekers who will write a report to the Legislature detailing how hateful our laws are.\u00a0 What then?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Take Murder, for instance.\u00a0 If my daughter dates a Jew, she shames me, shames my whole family.\u00a0 I must kill her, my religion says so.\u00a0 But Minnesota law says no.\u00a0 Hateful.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Accommodate or assimilate?\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Joe Doakes<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">Assimilate in your accomodation. \u00a0Peasant.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joe Doakes from Como Park emails: State Senate passed an omnibus bill (not yet law).\u00a0 Section 8, Article 28, starting at line 195.20, says: \u00a0 Sec. 28.
