\nIt\u2019s baseball season, time for the professional complainers to start whining about sports team names.\u00a0 I have a suggestion \u2013 change them all to Sox.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>Baseball teams traditionally wear tall leggings.\u00a0 We already have the Red Sox and the White Sox.\u00a0 Change every team to Sox.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>ROY-G-BIV won\u2019t get you very far, there are too many teams.\u00a0 That\u2019s okay, have contests to let the fans choose their new team name, maybe something linked to their location or history.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>Atlanta \u2013 Georgia \u2013 Peach State \u2013 obviously, they become the Peach Sox.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>Phoenix \u2013 desert \u2013 they become the Hot Sox.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>San Francisco \u2013 gay rights \u2013 Fabulous Sox (team color becomes lavender).<\/span><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>Texas \u2013 everything is bigger \u2013 Big Sox.<\/span><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>Minnesota \u2013 Twins \u2013 identical \u2013 Matching Sox.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/span>Detroit is tough.\u00a0 Their water is poisoned \u2013 Dry Sox?\u00a0 Their infrastructure is in ruins \u2013 Wrecked Sox?\u00a0\u00a0 They seek<\/span> a federal bailout \u2013 Need Sox?\u00a0 The town is run by Democrats \u2013 Your Sox?\u00a0 Tough one.\u00a0 Besides, why does a town that has no running water need a baseball team?\u00a0 Move them to somewhere prosperous and call them the Silk Sox.<\/span><\/p>\n
