{"id":55686,"date":"2015-10-15T12:00:13","date_gmt":"2015-10-15T17:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=55686"},"modified":"2015-10-15T09:35:21","modified_gmt":"2015-10-15T14:35:21","slug":"the-racket-swings-into-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=55686","title":{"rendered":"The Racket Swings Into Action"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good old\u00a0Saint Paul.<\/p>\n<p>The business economy just continues to spiral down the vortex; it&#8217;s schools are a disaster for African-Americans and other minority\u00a0students; it&#8217;s choking on traffic, and obsessed with choking it further.<\/p>\n<p>But\u00a0apparently none of that is so serious that the city, in\u00a0its infinite wisdom, isn&#8217;t going to try to socialize\u2026 Garbage collection.<\/p>\n<p>And the city, having learned so much for watching the Met Council jam\u00a0down the Green Line, is going about getting its way\u00a0the way it always does; anyway it has to to get what it wants.<\/p>\n<p>A reader from Merriam park emails:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Gotta love <a href=\"http:\/\/macgrove.org\/trash\">this report<\/a>&#8211; they received survey responses from 2,000 residents and conclude that based on those responses, &#8220;a majority of St Paul want organized trash collection.&#8221; They&#8217;ve also concluded that immigrants and minorities have too much trouble making decisions to make a good decision in choosing a trash hauler, so this is better for them.
