{"id":54586,"date":"2015-08-07T05:00:21","date_gmt":"2015-08-07T10:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=54586"},"modified":"2015-07-29T10:21:02","modified_gmt":"2015-07-29T15:21:02","slug":"the-love-of-the-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=54586","title":{"rendered":"The Love Of The Game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Joe Doakes from Como Park emails:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>When you see the headline \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.azcardinals.com\/news-and-events\/article-2\/Cardinals-Add-First-Female-Coach\/aa370599-8d8e-4e73-85d3-fc77515bf40a\">First Female Football Coach<\/a>,\u201d does it make you cringe? \u00a0Probably some Affirmative Action hire to please Social Justice Warriors, making the NFL more inclusive and welcoming?\u00a0 A ploy, like hiring Denny \u201cThe Knee\u201d Green to be a Black coach \u2013 he\u2019s Black all right, but not much of a coach?<\/p>\n<p>Normally, I\u2019d agree.\u00a0 But this particular woman doesn\u2019t sound like it.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>College rugby.<\/li>\n<li>14 seasons Women\u2019s Football Alliance (full-contact, tackling football, not flag or lingerie).<\/li>\n<li>Running Back for Texas Revolution Men\u2019s Indoor Football team (3 carries, -1 yards rushing).<\/li>\n<li>Two Gold Medals for Team USA in International Women\u2019s Football.<\/li>\n<li>Master\u2019s in Sport Psychology and PhD in Psychology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If she only had the academic degrees, or only had flag football experience, I\u2019d suspect this was a publicity stunt to get the team some good PR.<\/p>\n<p>But she\u2019s actually played the game and taken hits.\u00a0 She might know what she\u2019s talking about. \u00a0And if she can teach inside linebackers to play a better game, well, that\u2019s what coaching is all about.
