{"id":5379,"date":"2009-09-09T07:14:41","date_gmt":"2009-09-09T12:14:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=5379"},"modified":"2009-09-09T07:14:41","modified_gmt":"2009-09-09T12:14:41","slug":"bust","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=5379","title":{"rendered":"Bust"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Via email &#8211; the speech Barack Obama <em>should <\/em>give, but probably never will:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>My fellow Americans:<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nI speak today to my people &#8211; the Baby Boomers &#8211; because we have a lot to answer for.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe WWII generation is rightly known as The Greatest Generation.\u00a0 Young people put off college, marriage and families to spend years tramping around the world and dying in far-off Hell-holes.\u00a0 Their efforts brought down two empires and brought freedom to future generations worldwide.\u00a0 Then they came home and built the greatest wealth-generating economy the world has ever seen.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nWe, their children, squandered it all.\u00a0 We were so full of ourselves, so sure of the nobility of our goals, so confident that our wisdom exceeded the ages, that we tore down everything they had built through hard work and sacrifice and replaced it with entitlements.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nNow those same entitlements threaten to bankrupt our country.
