Scott Walker has left \u201cWiscahnsin\u201d back home in Wisconsin. He now wants to strengthen the economy, not the \u201cecahnahmy.\u201d And while he once had the \u201cahnor\u201d of meeting fellow Republicans, he told one group here this week that he simply enjoyed \u201ctalkin\u2019 with y\u2019all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif; font-style: italic;\">The classic Upper Midwest accent \u2014 nasal and full of flat a\u2019s \u2014 is one of several Walker trademarks to have fallen away this month after an intense period of strategizing and coaching designed to help Mr. Walker capitalize on his popularity in early polls and show that he is not some provincial politician out of his depth.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Times also notes, for the aid of the brain damaged, that Walker, who is running for President, has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/video\/us\/politics\/100000003584900\/scott-walkers-accent-then-and-now.html\">changed his focus from Wisconsin to National issues<\/a>. \u00a0Thanks, Times.<\/p>\n<p>NPR at least had the intellectual honesty to talk with a linguist who noted that people tend to tailor their own accents to their audiences.<\/p>\n<p>Which may the reason the Times hasn&#8217;t written about this:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bWRoEpYuHwI\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Or this:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KEYVwrvnuxY\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>But I&#8217;m going to suggest &#8220;intellectual honesty&#8221; has nothing to do with it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the interest of telling all the news that fits (the narrative), the NYTimes has turned its crack Democrat party relations group political journalists loose on&#8230; &#8230;Scott Walker&#8217;s accent: Out on the presidential campaign trail, Gov.
