And then this piece in the Hot Air Green Room by Jim Treacher<\/a>:<\/p>\n It turns out that John Holdren, Obama\u2019s new \u201cscience czar,\u201d has expressed some unusually radical ideas about stemming population growth. Or to put it more simply, he\u2019s a totalitarian eugenicist<\/a>:<\/p>\n Forced abortions. Mass sterilization. A \u201cPlanetary Regime\u201d with the power of life and death over American citizens. <\/em><\/p>\n The tyrannical fantasies of a madman? Or merely the opinions of the person now in control of science policy in the United States? Or both? <\/em><\/p>\n These ideas (among many other equally horrifying recommendations) were put forth by John Holdren, whom Barack Obama has recently appointed Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, and Co-Chair of the President\u2019s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology \u2014 informally known as the United States\u2019 Science Czar. In a book Holdren co-authored in 1977, the man now firmly in control of science policy in this country wrote that: <\/em><\/p>\n \u2022 Women could be forced to abort their pregnancies, whether they wanted to or not; Please read the whole thing<\/a> for the details, along with photographic proof that Holdren\u2019s book, Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment<\/em>, exists. Holdren really did say all that stuff, and he even lists the book in his cirriculum vitae<\/a>. \n\u2022 The population at large could be sterilized by infertility drugs intentionally put into the nation\u2019s drinking water or in food;
\n\u2022 Single mothers and teen mothers should have their babies seized from them against their will and given away to other couples to raise;
\n\u2022 People who \u201ccontribute to social deterioration\u201d (i.e. undesirables) \u201ccan be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility\u201d \u2014 in other words, be compelled to have abortions or be sterilized.
\n\u2022 A transnational \u201cPlanetary Regime\u201d should assume control of the global economy and also dictate the most intimate details of Americans\u2019 lives \u2014 using an armed international police force.<\/em><\/p>\n
