{"id":49248,"date":"2014-11-20T12:00:10","date_gmt":"2014-11-20T18:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=49248"},"modified":"2014-11-20T11:21:30","modified_gmt":"2014-11-20T17:21:30","slug":"just-say-any-crap-at-all","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=49248","title":{"rendered":"Just Say Any Crap At All"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m starting to develop this theory that the Democrats&#8217; &#8220;messaging&#8221; strategy is developing into something like this:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Tell voters pretty much whatever you think they want to hear.<\/li>\n<li>Assume the voters are too incurious to check up on it.<\/li>\n<li>There is no point 3.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Submitted as evidence:\u00a0 Barbara Boxer&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/hotair.com\/archives\/2014\/11\/19\/barbara-boxers-mortifying-anti-keystone-senate-speech\/\">speech against the Keystone Pipeline<\/a>; I&#8217;ll emphasize the real howlers:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Not only would the construction of Keystone put <strong>no negative pressure on gasoline prices<\/strong>, an argument President Barack Obama has also made, but the California senator claimed it would have the precise opposite effect. \u201c<strong>We\u2019re going to see higher gas prices because of this<\/strong>,\u201d Boxer insisted.<\/p>\n<p>These and other comments delivered by Boxer over the course of her hours on the floor on Tuesday were equally confounding, but her most mystifying pronouncements were those in which she touted the bustling green economy of her home state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAsk yourself the question, is it worth exposing our people to these risks who I stood with shoulder to shoulder, and is it worth exposing the planet to these risks when <strong>we can create millions of jobs in a clean energy economy<\/strong> like we\u2019re doing in my state,\u201d she said. \u201c<strong>And we\u2019re going gangbusters<\/strong>!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI come from<strong> a state that is booming with hundreds of thousands of jobs<\/strong> with balanced budgets \u2014 clean energy future \u2014 and I come from a state that embraced cleaning up the environment and building the economy and jobs,\u201d Boxer later added. \u201cAnd they go hand in hand.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Repeat after us:\u00a0 Scarcity leads to lower prices; plenty leads to higher prices.\u00a0 California is going gangbusters.\u00a0 The budget &#8211; &#8220;balanced&#8221; via tax hikes &#8211; is sustainable; the California pension bubble isn&#8217;t going to burst.\u00a0 Green energy is a goldmine for workers!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It sounds good on camera.\u00a0 It plays well with people who still think government still tells the truth, and that media will tell them if anything&#8217;s amiss.\u00a0\u00a0 It plays well with Gruber&#8217;s America.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The question isn&#8217;t &#8220;has the Democrat party switched to an all-lie messaging strategy&#8221;.\u00a0 The queston is &#8220;given their assumptions, why would they <em>not <\/em>go to an all-lie messaging strategy?&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m starting to develop this theory that the Democrats&#8217; &#8220;messaging&#8221; strategy is developing into something like this: Tell voters pretty much whatever you think they want to hear.
